Fairbanks, Maine

SR&RL plow 512 at Fairbanks during the winter of 1920. I picked up this view at the Springfield 2025 train show. I have only seen two other views of this flag stop. Both in Bob Jones book about the time it was abandoned and being used as a garden storage shed. This view shows a four pain window on the opposite end to the door. It also has corner trim not seen in the Jones book photos...George Dutka

Sandy River Flag Stop - Fairbanks

Two of the walls and details seen on top of the RMC article which is my inspiration for this project.
I decided to build a new flag stop in O scale for my planned larger diorama. I had a bit of leftover styrene sheeting which would work for the project and a mix of castings from my late friend Peter Mumby who gave me them back last year...George Dutka

The walls are all cut with my window and door being used.

The plans for this structure was published in RMC during the late 1960's.

Running Light

This winter at the Springfield train show I purchased a few Maine two-footer photos. This is one of them with two engines running light somewhere in Maine. No data was included on the back but interesting to see. You don't always have to include rolling stock on your train  running around your layout.

It has been awhile since I last posted and thought I would share one of my photos I just scanned a few days ago...George Dutka

Engine Transfer

About to go for a spin at the Junction. The turntable is made from an HO scale bridge.
A couple of Peter's On30" engines have arrived on my module recently. Thought I would share a view...George Dutka

Peter Mumby's On30" Module

My good friend Peter Mumby who recently passed left me his On30" module that we both built together plus his rolling stock to go with it. I took the structures off it plus the legs and moved it to my home. At the moment it is in the garage till I have a helper to get it downstairs. The thought is I will attach this one to mine for a bit. I am planning a wall mounted On30" layout built on Styrofoam base sections which could be taken to shows as displays. So at some point I will take the frame apart and possibly narrow the two modules down a bit...stay tuned...George Dutka

Standard Gauge Flatcar

My weekend find at our local train show. It came with a crew member handling the brake wheel. Hope his salary is not too much as I cleaned out my cash yesterday to purchase this car.
A new interchange track and this car can work well together. This model is either a kit or scratch-built wood model. I think I may change the name to MEC...George Dutka
